Customer Solutions: Protocol Conversion

To interface between these protocols, DNE manufactures products that can transmit both civilian COTS (NRZ) and military CDI communications, and can convert between the two widely-deployed protocols.
Compatible with both singlemode and multimode fiber, DNE's protocol converter units allow communication centers to be located at extended distances from transmission sites without a loss of signal.

Many emergency communication systems are constructed by stringing private telephone lines – both electrical and fiber-optic - to a series of remote locations and connecting equipment on both ends. The limitations of both copper wire and commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) communication products restrict the length of cable that can be run without a loss of signal. The military has solved this signal-loss problem by using a unique protocol, Conditioned Di-Phase (CDI), which allows significantly longer transmission distances over copper wire or fiber optic cables.
