The diagram below shows how PacketAssure works dynamically to manage bandwidth by priority type. Once the priority video call is released, the data traffic resumes.
Note: All data is read right to left on each of the four scenarios.
- PacketAssure has no limit on the number of high-priority channels. Priority bandwidth is never "nailed up" to an application.
- PacketAssure's service class - by port - greatly simplifies operation, requiring only minimal training.
- Service class - by port - totally isolates other circuits from burst, congestion, or denial of service (DoS) attack activity. By contrast, severe congestion on an IP router impacts all network users.
- PacketAssure limits non-conforming and low-priority traffic, greatly isolating TCP retransmissions, shortening congestion periods, and dramatically reducing variable delay on priority channels.
- PacketAssure requires no expensive application processors or extensive memory upgrades in order to delivery premium service quality.
- Serial over IP channels run up to 8Mbps with PacketAssure. Popular router products have a limitation of 2Mbps.
